Hi all, first time to this site (i'm a shotgunworld.com kind of guy).

I have a stainless new single-six in .22 cal... but i honestly don't have that much shooting with it. I get tired of hitting paper targets, do you guys/gals have any better suggestions of things to shoot?

Paper targets are what you need to use to become a better shooter..... they tell you where you missed, and give you the chance to correct your sights, hold point, grip, stance squeeze........

But, like you said, they get BORING. I start a range session with at least 25, usually 50 rounds on paper. Pay attention to your technique, and where you're hitting, correcting as necessary.

Then, it's time for some fun..... spinner targets and charcoal briquets make good .22 targets. For a .357 or something with a similar punch, plastic soda bottles filled with water explode nicely (but pick 'em up afterwards). Shooting at targets that respond to a hit is fun.... and it's even more fun when you hit 'em almost every time.

Recently,someone gave a link on ShotgunWorld and Shootingworld for different targets that you could print out. Try some of these instead of just shooting at a round one. Buy a pack of small balloons,put a little flour in em along with just enough air to puff em out a little. Tack em to a board and shoot away! When ya hitem ya get a puff of smoke,kinda cool and still enviromentally friendly. Cheap cans of soda from your local mart store can be fun to,particularly the colored ones.

Ya know, i've always shot pop cans... but never have shot them straight out of the case, i've always drank them first! I will give some cans of Faygo or something a whirl next time it's warm out. I only shoot trap when it's cold out, the vented rib keeps me warm.

As long as it's not explosive or likely to ricochet a bullet back at you or someone else, then I say anything you can get your hands on is far game. Jugs of water look great when struck by a bullet and so do little blocks wood and other items that shatter into pieces when struck.

A claybird set up at different distances can be fun also. Rig up someway to hang em up or set up in a berm. Don't get em too close together cause you'll be doubling up from broken pieces.
