On duty (and off when weather has me wearing a good concealing garment):
Glock 21 in .45 ACP

Off duty casual:
Taurus 85CH Stainless

Off duty minimum:
North American Arms 5 shot single action .22LR revolver. Never underestimate a .22!

On duty I carry extra ammo, but almost never off duty.

When concealment isn't a challenge I carry a Glock Mod. 27 in a Blackhawk Serpa holster with an extra mag. For those times when I need to be more discrete I carry my S+W Airweight J frame .38 Spec. with a spare speedloader.

Three of my pistols get carried more than the rest. I live with a Glock Model 21 that's always somewhere nearby. If I'm not within arm's reach of a G-21 then I'll be carrying a Glock Model 19(RTF2). On occasion I'll switch to an S&W Model 686 with a 2 1/2" barrel.

Whenever I carry a secondary, that pistol is usually a Beretta Model 3032 with night sights. There seems to be some confusion in this thread as to, 'Why' some people carry an extra magazine and others do not. The main purpose for carrying an extra magazine is NOT to have extra cartridges; instead it's to quickly solve magazine stoppages in a semiautomatic pistol.

At the range on weekends (I'm an NRA instructor): Glock 26 in a Blackhawk Serpa retention holster with 13 rounds of Federal Hydra-Shok in an extended mag plus two backup mags. EVERYWHERE else, at least my S&W Bodyguard .380 in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster with one backup mag.

Currently, my primary carry has been the Kimber Ultra Raptor 3" 1911. This little .45 has been upgraded in status and reliability by the addition of Wilson Combat magazines.

I carry either my XDS .45 or my LCR 357 in my front pocket in a Desantis Pocket Holster. For the XDS I carry an extra 7 round mag and the LCR I carry 2 speed loaders.
