Is it possible to reload 9mm with a rifle type bullet (Spitzer, boat tail)? To get a 9mm +P accurate out to 200 yards a more aerodynamic bullet would have to be used. Does anyone know of anything other than "standard" handgun bullet shapes for 9mm reloading?

A 35 caliber runs 9.093 mm and a 9mm is 9.017 this is the closest I have found but it looks like it is too big in diameter to safely fire from a 9mm.

I'm not dead certain, but I'd be willing to bet that any bullet available in a diameter suitable for the 9x19 will be an autoloading handgun compatible bullet design.... and that would rule out a spitzer.

The sight radius of any handgun limits it's effective range far more than any bullet design does. With that said I have fired my Glock 26 on my gun clubs 200 yard rifle range at steel plates, and was able to hit them quite consistently. The bullets didn't take very long to get out there, and I seriously doubt using spitzer type bullets would have helped anything.
