Hey guys.

Putting together the grocery list of pistols i want to start buying in 6 months when I turn 21. Question....

I plan on getting .22, a .40 auto like a glock or an XD...and a .45 in 1911. Question is...do many people make a nice 1911 in 9mm? The only reason I would get one is because 9mm is more economical to shoot than the .45...and I like the 1911 frame.

Thanks :)

Here is my take a conversion from a 1911 to 22lrf it is not cheap. I shoot a 1911 that has been tricked out, to shoot all types of reloads. I also shoot 3 target 22 that are also a joy to shoot, point is a 1911 shooting 22 rim fires can not give you the same as a Ruger MK2 target at less than 2x the price. I shoot a Berreta 9mm 92fs, with no changes. I think there are many 9mm out there that are as good. 9mm ammo is really cheap if you go to white box Win 115 fmg. It is great practice round, the cost goes up on hp, +p, rounds. The 9mm luger has been around for over 100 yrs and still going strong.

??????

All depends on your definition of "cheap", I guess. $200 to $250 for a Kimber or Ciener conversion doesn't seem too bad... compare that to $250 to $400 for a .22 autoloading pistol.

If you want to shoot a 1911 and shoot it a lot without spending a bundle, a .22 LR conversion is the way to go.

Does anyone make a 9mm conversion for a 1911?

The question was does anyone make a nice 9mm on a 1911 frame and I don't have the answer but I expect there are some people here that do.
