I bought a 4" Ruger Redhawk today. I know it's a little late to ask for opinions now, but anybody shot one yet?

I haven't shot the 4" version,I shot my sons 7 1/2" 44mag and its not bad.Getting back to your question-depending on the caliber and what you want it for, probably for protection, target shooting or plinking it'd be alright. The 4" barrel is probably alittle to short for hunting-IMOPO.I hope this helps.

I like it so far. I haven't had time to really shoot it a bunch. I did shoot some of my reloads through it and recoil was stout. I think I'll back off a little the next time I load some. It was a pussycat with .44 special loads.

I bought it to carry with me when deer hunting and for plinking. I didn't think the 4" barrel would be optimal for hunting, but should be OK for the short shots I usually get.
