I was working up a coffee can full of 9mm Luger brass and discovered a 9mm Makarov case that had been sized and flared perfectly. .380 Auto brass mixed in with the 9's show up readily at resizing. These 9mm Maks do not.

Has anyone tried loading 9mm Mak cases for 9mm Luger?

I am afraid I may have done this inadvertently in the past.
Having to stop and read each headstamp is a PITA.

I haven’t and wouldn’t. And I hope you haven’t either. The Makarov case is about .044 shorter than the 9mm Parabellum or (Lugar).
Since the round chambers to the shoulder of the case this most probably cause a miss-fire.
If I were you I would check my loaded rounds and my cases. The difference should be very noticeable, the bullets will not be seated down as far and the cases will be about the thickness of a dime shorter.
Hope this helps.
