First I would like to thank everyone who responded to my earlier post about buying my first handgun.

I looked up almost all of the suggestions made on the internet and saw quite a few of them in gun shops as I looked around town - and out of town.

Decided on a Ruger Mark III Hunter, picked it up today at the local Scheels for 449.00 plus tax.

I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet, going to take it apart and clean it tonight. Tuesday morning will be my first chance to run some of the 7 different types of .22 ammo I bought. Darn, I forgot to buy targets! Oh well, I'll make em or buy some.

You picked a fine gun, maybe the best, and I don't mean for a beginner's gun. I'm not a fan of the grip shape but that is a personal thing based on what I grew up with. For someone with a clean slate it will be a great gun and I have no regrets suggestiong this model. It will work great as is and for little more one can tune it up to true competition levels. I'd tell you to have fun but with a good .22 pistol that is a given.

The Ruger Mark Series of guns are fantastic and a blast to shoot. You can rapid fire one so fast you almost expect it to jam on you but it doesn't. Yup, loads of fun and a fine choice 9ball enjoy
