I'm thinking about buying my first pistol. I have been shooting since I was about 6 and have plenty of experience shooting pistols rifles and shotguns. I'm wanting a semi auto preferably .40 or larger. I've been thinking either S&W M&P, Sig 220, or a glock 10mm, but I do have a fondness for the 1911. I have shot a glock and a 1911 but I don't have any experience handeling the sig or S&W. What are your opinions of these guns?

The sig has a bit more weight to the frame than a glock but not by much. I find the sig .40 to be a very good shooting gun but it will never have preference over my 1911. I have no interest in the glocks having shot one several times.
