Can I take a CCW class before I turn 21 and get the CPL forms filed the day of my birthday or would it be a waste of time and money to take the class beforehand? (if I could take it beforehand at all) I want to expedite the process but wouldn't if I would have to redo the class because it didn't count.

Why don't you call the City and ask them because their information will be different from whatever information you can get here. Even if someone here told you "yes you can" you would still have to double check it with the city anyway!

Grosse Pointe PD just told me, "You must complete the course AFTER your birthday." That said, there doesn't seem to be any reason why you can't start it and finish it the day after your birthday. Most CCW instructors are pretty agreeable to things.

If thats how it is then I'll wait. I was hoping for a way to speed up the process but I should know better than to expect anything the government regulates to have a fast track.
