Charles Daly 1911? Didn't know they were selling them.... any idea who makes it?

Anyhow, with any 1911, a failure to feed is almost always the magazine.... once in a while, you'll have a particular bullet shape that the particular gun just doesn't like.

Try a genuine Colt magazine, a Wilson Combat, or some similar such. NO PRO-MAG.... they're a waste of money.

Seems like I read something like this on another forum. Most of the guys/gals who had bought one had to get replacement mags. Unfortunately, I don't remember what brand of 1911 it was.

Best to find another mag and give it a try. By the way, aren't most of those mags supposed to hold only 7 rounds? If you're forcing that last one in,that may be your whole problem.
Just a thought...

I have stainless Colt 8-round mags, but only load them to 7.... never a glitch, regardless of bullet shape or spring. If they're loaded to 8, it will misfeed on the first round once in a great while.... especially if I'm shooting boomer loads with the 20 lb spring in there.

I have 2 CD 1911's, the only brand I own at this time. They were made by Armscor, same as the Rock Island pistols, and are first rate guns.
I use only USGI mags in my 1911's and have used them for years in preference to any and all aftermarket brands. I have not had any failures with these mags.
FWIW, I got my first 1911 in the early 1970's and I really recommend ANY Armscor-made 1911 pistol.
