HI. I'm a new guy who slid on over from Shotgunworld. Picked up a minty Colt Police Positive Special, 38 Spcl., 4" barrel, fixed sights, what appears to be original wood, checkered grips (open backstrap).

No box or papers, but the gun itself is like new. Fired very little if at all. Serial number is 317XXM.

So, I guess my questions are:
- When was it made?
- Value? A collector's piece, or just shoot and enjoy (I know +Ps are a no-no for this one).
- If I decide to shoot it and have fun with it, anyone know where I can pick up a nice piece of leather and some aftermarket grips? (These are nice looking grips, but they are small for my mitts.)

Thanks.

Mark
