I have a colt mark IV/series 70 government model 38 super auto i was wondering the value of this pistol and when it was made the serial is 70s15742.

I don't know blue book value but I paid $689 for my bright stainless Mark IV 38 super. Mine was drilled and tapped for a red dot so its less valuable to some people. I would expect to pay more if it hadn't been modified.

What's the finish? I'm no expert, but a 98% nickel Series 70 in .45 was going for an even $800 at the range I usually go to, and I'd expect to pay more for a .38 Super.
