Ya know, I don't think there was much left after that terriffic series with the Redbirds. My boss was at the game when Pujols hit the monster shot; he said it got quiet as a tomb in there. I even read where Pujols said he could hear his feet when they hit the basepath. That was as entertaining a series as I can recall. I stayed up and watched every inning of every game, including the ones with extra frames-went to work sleepy as hell. I also read that on the plane back to Houston, after Pujol's homer, the mood was somber, no laughing, no card playing, just long faces. But somewhere in flight, Ausmus jumped out of his seat and yelled, "Look, there is Pujol's home run. The damned thing is still climbing." Apparently, that loosened them up and at least made the flight home a little better. Sure doesn't have much to do with handguns, huh?
