I happen to be the proud owner of one of these fine weapons but I have no experience with repairs, upgrades and the like. Anyone have any suggestions for lightening up the trigger?

That is a good question. I dont have any idea myself, but I wondered what happened to these pistols. How does the gun shoot? What is your opinion of this gun? When were they decomissioned?

I have no idea about the decommission, but the other questions I can answer to some extent.

How does the gun shoot?

First time I picked it up, I smashed the rock I was shooting at about 20 yards away. Every shot out of it so far has been right on target. I've put about 50 rounds through it, perhaps. My dad bought it from a local pawn shop, so I have no idea how much it has been fired before I had it.

What is your opinion of this gun?

Absolutely love it. Great balance. When I fire it, it comes back on line very quickly. Mine is stainless, so I love the look of it as well. If you get the chance to pick one up, I would say grab it, it's worth it.

The Double Eagle however did not catch on in sales and by
1997 the pistol had been discontinued

I'm assuming that's what you meant by decomissioned.
