I say all of them, and you should have given the .22 LR its own place in the poll. I can only give my least favorite which is the 10mm followed by the .25, .32, and .38 ACPs due almost exclusively to the guns they are chambered in.

OMG!! u actualy have the nerve to put up .357sig but u leave out the .357 mag? i know that technicly a .357 mag aint a semiauto cartridge but it sure fires good from a desert eagle

hey uglydog my 1st choice of least favorite caliber would have been the .25 auto and not the 10mm cuz 10mm is cool

anyways i choose .357 mag as my personal favorite

Sorry to dispute you clayshooter, but a .357 mag is a revolver, not a semi auto.
mike 308,

I was only saying that I didn't put the 357 mag up there because it is a revolver cartridge when Maser asked why I didn't put it up there. Maser also said that he saw a 357 mag in a semi-auto pistol so that is why I said the word "primarily". Sorry for the confusion.

The AutoMag line of cartridges are different from the .357 and .44 magnum revolver cartridges. The AM cartridges were of a rimless design to facilitate feeding in an auto pistol. We made cases for them by cutting back .308 rifle cases and then necking them down to size. Super Vel made a run of them so they were no longer a wildcat cartridge but Super Vel shortly went out of business. I never saw any of these myself but they have a bit of a cult following in some circles.

Favorite for what? For target/recreational shooting I would have to say 9mm because I can afford to shoot it all day. For revolvers I would definately say .357 mag but that's not what was asked.

I would go with a .40 or .45acp for defense in an autoloader but they cost more to feed than a 9mm, hence the vote.

I love the .45. It works well with so many powders when reloading, has great knockdown power. Feels good in most peoples hand, and when practised is very accurate. The 1911 platform is timeless.

Take care, Jack

Super Vel. Now that's going back a ways. I still have partial boxes of them in .38spl and .357mag. As for the "favorite" for all-around purposes, I'll go with the 9mm.
