Get those soapboxes ready... :D

I have an aquaintance who has a concealed carry permit and has recieved some training. He is in his low-to-mid 20's. He is a fairly decent fellow, maybe a bit prone to the dramatic.

At any rate, he carries a Glock concealed most of the time. I have zero problem with that. However, from time to time, he feels it necessary to pull the pistol out, flash it, fiddle with the slide, and say some corny line ("let's do this" seems to be a favorite). This practice makes me uncomfortable, even though it is generally done in a more private location.

What do you think? I think the weapon should be handled with more respect. While I'm sure he's proud of the ability to carry concealed and to have a decent pistol, it seems a bit much.

I appreciate everyones opinion on the topic. Makes me feel a lot better knowing I'm not being hyper-sensitive to the situation.

Maser - I would probably refrain from making disparaging comments about law enforcement. Even if you don't respect them, many of the folks here and at SGW either are or were in law enforcement at some time. Just doesn't bode too well with the natives.
