I have an S&W Model 1911 Doug Koenig. The Owner’s Manual that came with the gun shows a picture of the gun with an arrow pointing to and labeled Grip Safety. There is no discussion in the manual about the grip safety. Loaded gun fires normal. Loaded gun, grip safety not depressed, trigger pulled, fully cocked hammer falls, gun does not fire. In all other Model 1911s I’ve seen, when the grip safety is not depressed, the hammer does not fall from a fully cocked position when the trigger is pulled. What’s going on here? Need help. Thanks in advance. Pat Crotty
