One of my friends inherited this 7 shot revolver after his Father pasted away recently. The only markings he can see on the gun are located on the barrel. If I recall, on the top it has "RT" stamped. One the right side, near the chamber is stamped ".22 long rifle CTC"

Any help would be appreciated. He has no other information on this gun other than what I have given you. I hope this pic helps out.

Thanks in advance,
John

It's either a Harrington & Richardson break top or an Iver Johnson break top.

Thanks for the info. Any other markings to look for that he may have over looked?

I may be wrong, however I have an old Iver Johnson which has the type of grip and trigger sear as the revolver shown. I would guess it is a Iver Johnson.
I don't have an H&R for comparison.

Tell him to look on top of the ribbed barrel for name of maker and/or patent dates. Also tell him to remove the grips and look on the left side of the frame for a serial number.
