I have a 1911 that was made in the 1940's is was my grandfathers who used it as a side arm in WWII the gun has been fired a handful of times and is it great condition. What do you guys think?
Do the individual parts match in terms of finish? Lots of the WWII 45s were real mongrels. It must bear the stamp "U S Property" or something similar to be a genuine WWII piece.
Who made it? There were, I think, 5 different manufacturers, with some being worth more than others.
