A friend of mine bought a pistol from his 80 year old neighbor. It is a .22 and the only markings on it are the serials and it is stamped, GERMANY on the barrel, and under the grip it is stamped, LAs Deputy. It also has what looks like some kind of a bull on either side of the hand grips.

There were several German manufacturers of poor to mediocre quality .22 revolvers for export to the U.S. Rohm was the most common.

If it's in REALLY nice shape, it might fetch $100.

Take the grips off and see if you see the letters HS anywhere.

If so it's a Herbert Schmidt.

More than likely it's either a Rohm or Herbert Schmidt.
