Indiana CCW holders may be getting a large break. A bill is before the House and the Govenor says he will sign it if it reaches his desk. It will grant present 4 year holders a lifetime
license for $100 fee to the state and I think it is $25. to the
local police dept.
For new applicatants the Fee will be $160. for state and $40
to local. I'm quoting the fees from memory, but there close.
All of our northern senaters are behind it,however comment in Ft Wayne papers are as follows. Police Chief not in favor. thinks they need to be reviewed every few years. Same for Allen Co . Sheriff.
Still have two years left on mine but I will go for the lifetime when it's up.
Indiana has been pretty darn good to gun owners as far as our
laws and permits go. Clean record and NO Felony'offenses
are th main requirments. There have been some held back or not approved by the local officals however some of these were
personal bad feelings between parties involved. Those arent happening much any more. Most Police Chiefs and Sheriffs dont worry about people that come in for permits. It's the ones who dont come in that is the worry.

Wouldn't it be more effecient to review the person in front of the judge for CCW and remove it if necessary than review 1/4 of the holders evey 4 years?

But then again, it doesn't bring in the revenue, does it?

Might be a misunderstanding. P.Chief still wants to keep the 4 yr. license ,not in favor of a liftime one. We don't go before a
Judge for permits. The background check is made by local
Police or sheriff Dept in you live outside the city. If approved there then you forward it on to state police firearms Div. They make final approval.

I am referring to our present four year permit.

Hey: Its going to happen .House passed it 78-19 yesterday.One Senator was "brave" enough to publically say that any License is againts the Second Ammendent.
And we don't have to have a permit to buy a gun. Well maybe from the wife.
Next year they may try tp bring up this thing about Employers not allowing you to have a gun in your locked car while in their parking lot. It was originally on the permit bill but dropped for the present.
Now The Big problem is our new Gov trying to give our toll road to the Aussies to run for the next 75 years. No way Hosay!!!!
