New to the site, Look like there is a lot of great info to be found here.
I just bought a Rossi .38 special made in Brasil, Interarms Alexandria, Virgina.
Trying to find out a little info as to its history, year made and what every else can be told.
It is stainless, 2" barrel, black rubber grips.
S/N on right side of frame - W198XXX
Number on inside of frame - M885
Number on crane - 6496

Thanks in advance,
Ken

The only thing I can tell you is that your revolver was made and imported sometime prior to 1999.

At the end of 1998, BrazTech International became the exclusive importer for Rossi firearms, replacing Interarms.

Rossi revolvers internals are close copies of Smith & Wesson revolvers. The very old ones used to be pretty bad, but I have owned a very good .357 Rossi made in the late 1980's that was a little strange looking, but worked just fine and was very accurate.

I hope you enjoy yours.
