Looking for used 9mm or .357 mag in Illinois

I'm looking to make a face to face purchase on a used handgun near Champaign. I'd be willing to drive about 3 hrs in any direction to make the purchase.

I want a good 9mm or .375 mag hand gun that I will use for plinking on a local range. I'd like to keep my price range below $400 and am not set on any particular make or model. (S&W, Ruger, Taurus, Rossi, CZ, Springfield XD, Glock, almost any reliable gun will do as long as the price is right.)

I am currently 20 years old so I am not able to purchase from an FFL. So face to face purchases only.

When do you turn 21? You can not own a handgun in IL until then.

I turned 21 almost 2 years ago :wink:

It is perfectly legal to own a handgun under the age of 21 in IL. I bought my first one before I was 21 and knew many friends that bought them from local police officers before they turned 21. We all shot with those officers quite often at the range and most of them knew our situation.
