I was in USAF Security Police from 1975 to 1995. When the Air Force used the S&W model 15 revolver 38 special the aircraft pilots used this holster. Hope this helped you out.

it resembles a similar holster made for the S&W k-frame issue
Air Force revolver only it is larger , has anyone seen a holster like
