Need help determining the manufacturer of a single action 22cal. revolver. It resembles Colt's and Ruger's single sixes. Nickel finished, hard rubber grips with Am. buffalo stamped on each side. The barrel is stamped cal 22lr below that Germany followed by serial number. On the frame just above the trigger guard are three symbols, two resemble shields like "coat-of-arms", the other I can't make out.with the grips removed on the left side along the left side of the very bottom is stamped "Herbert Schmitt". I really would appreciate any help id-ing this pistol, so many manufacturers and so little time! Thank you.

There's the manufacturer..... one of several German manufacturers of mediocre quality single action revolvers. In near-mint condition, they go for $125 - $150.
