Sometimes it looks like the rear sight on my 4" Redhawk is not level. I've measured and checked it out, it is level. Is this some type of optical illusion.

The dovetail on the front sight, where the orange insert sits, is cut just a touch out of square. Could this be causing the illusion?

I don't notice it all the time. The gun shoots fine and is sighted in. Just wondering if anybody has a similar situation.

Astigmatism? I see bent sights sometimes too, when they're really straight. Ask an eye doc.

Nope, the holes for the rear sight pins weren't aligned properly. Should have my new Redhawk from Ruger next week. Hope it's free of problems.
