I have a S&W 4006 pistol that I picked up cheap. Matte stainless steel frame and slide, w/ Night Sites. Its a LEO turn-in, and it has some areas that have worn shiny from being in the holster, and the factory grips were cracked- got an as new set off eBay for $7 or 8 shipped.

I don't have a lot ($250) in the gun, but it is a good shooter/bedside table gun. I'd like to have the finish cleaned up, thinking that media blasting might be the way to go.

I don't have any experience in media blasting, and was hoping that someone here with more experience might be able to give some advice.

The so-called fiberglas bead is what I believe most refinishers use. My experience has been a cost of about $45 to have it done... and much more to have it bright and shiny. :wink:

media consists of two choice's, glass bead or ceramic bead
glass bead runs about 45.00 while the ceramic runs about 60 due to cost of media. I think the glass bead looks better, just my 2cents worth
