inexpensive, base model, bare bones, no frills solid 1911. Good manufacturer with no bells and whistles. Perfect platform for upgrades.

I would be hesitant on the gun. I have heard of several reports of premature wear of the rails and cracks of the frame on these models. The frames are cast rather than forged which is not a big thing if the castings are from quality metal which it seems these aren't. I had looked at them several times and was intrigued by their low price but gave up the idea when I asked about having a rail mounted underneath and was told, "No way" by a gunsmith I trust very much. For a little more one can get a base Springfield model which will be of much higher quality or if you keep your eyes open you may find a used GI for less.
