What are the differences and pros and cons of the ruger mark series? This will be my first autoloader, and I was just wondering what made the gun what it was?

The Mark III is a "lawyerized" version of the Mark II. It incorporates a magazine disconnect and an external loaded chamber indicator.
I'm not certain of the particulars involved, but disassembly/reassembly of the Mark III is supposed to be more difficult than the Mark II.

I have it on good authority that the MK2 is the best they have builtto date.

Ruger 22 auto loade
This is what happens when you use the bolt release to close the bolt with a Ruger Mark II/III.
You can file the bolt stop square and it will work again, but in the future, slingshot the bolt shut and you wont have this problem.
