Until recently, the Ruger -six series was one of the best-kept secrets around. Within the last year or so, the secret has gotten out, and the prices have really gone up.
My personal favorite is the 4" Security Six.... very similar to the S&W M19 in weight and general feel (except for the trigger.... can't beat a Smith). Much less expensive than the Smith, and will handle heavier loads.... makes a good woods packin' sidearm.
