A friend bought one and I got to shoot it on Saturday. Even with +P ammo, the recoil was mild, especially given how light the gun is.

Workmanship is quality. It's no S&W airweight, but it's also about half the price...

In my neighborhood they're about $50 higher than a S&W Airweight.

I exaggerated a little... the base model Ruger LCR has an MSRP of $525, and a street price around $400.

The S&W airweight 642 (base model) had an MSRP of $640, and a street price in the high-$500's.

If you are finding brand new airweights for $350, please let me know where... I'd buy a pile of them.

My 638 was $399. Then add sales tax and a $10 FBI background check. My dealer is a big volume store and I'm sure he's getting a pretty good deal.
