I recently bought a new mklll 22/45. When the mag release button is pushed the mag is just marginally released and does not spring open. I have to physically pull it out of the mag well. any ideas as to how to resolve this mag situation?

I haven't handeled that gun yet ,but its quite possible
that its not inended to be a drop out mag,but just a mag
release.
Uglydog or some other Xpert will be able to tell you for sure.

I have a Ruger Mk II and Claybird is correct. The mag isn't designed to fall free of the gun, just push out enough to give you a grip on it.

That's the way mine works also. It just drops down some to aid removal.

Thankyou all for your help with my mag question. I think you are probably right about it being just a release button. My wife will be relieved to know that her husband is not the only one who NEEDS HELP BECAUSE HE IS BUYING GUNS AND CAN'T STOP.
