What is everyones opinion on the Ruger SR9? It looks like a nice little gun thats not very expensive. Has anyone purchased one of these? Had any experiances with the recalls?

I have owned my SR9 for 6-8 weeks. It is post-recall - made in Nov/Dec '08. I had one FTE and one FTF in the first 10 shots, but a few hundred later, no other issues. It is light, slim, comfortable in the hand, etc. Take down is easy for cleaning, 17+1 is nice. So far, seems to be great quality for the price.

I love my SR9...I bought it before the recall, sent it in for the refitting ( they gave me a hat and an extra magazine for my trouble)... Have about 1000 rounds through it with no problems at all (I have two sons who really like shooting this gun !). Light weight, easy to keep on target....fun to shoot !

I have a new one, have 150 rounds thru it. It's perfect. The slide release is very tight, even the manual says to give it a bit of an assist by pulling the slide back a bit to relieve
the pressure prior to depressing. OTHER than that, it's comfortable, has very little recoil, and is extremely accurate and so far, 100 percent reliable. Lots has been said about the trigger, mine is like 'butter'. I like this gun maybe more than my glock 26 and/or 22C.

It's just a great shooting pistol.

Mine's pretty new, just a couple of boxes through it, however, it was all the cheap Wolf stuff and it patterned great with no FTF or jams of any kind. I was impressed. Bought it just to have something to shoot 9mm out of instead of just my Blackhawks. It was gonna be the SR9 or CZ-75, but chose to buy American. However, if I were buying a carry gun, it would have been a Glock. Thank goodness, I've got more than enough carry guns!

For a 9mm plinker, it is pretty hard to beat.
Watch these three below. The last one is really encouraging.
