Need a little help please. I have a Ruger Standard automatic pistol that I bought years ago. I am not sure what the date of manufacture is. It is sn# 17-57321. Is there a site that I can research this serial number to see exactly when it was manufactured and exactly what model it is. I would like to find some wood grips for it. Thanks for any info. :D

Ruger's website has a page with the information you seek. On request, Ruger will send you a letter identifying the date on which the gun was shipped and its configuration (barrel length, etc.) at that time. Depending on who answers the phone, it will frequently give you the same information if you call. The letter's free.
