Anyone out there have a S&W Model 16 (I think its a 16) in 32 H&R mag with a 6" barrel.

I think they were only made a couple of years.

If so, how do you like it.

My brother has one that I've tried to buy from him an he will not sell it.

Anybody ever see one for sale?

Aye, eye, I've seen one in local shops about a year back. I've never shot the SW, but my exwife has a 32 H/R in a Ruger 101. One of the finest calibers I've ever had the pleasure to shoot. On SGW, used to be a fella named Shotgun Red who had one of the ones your model listed.

for Red....

Yaaarrrrrrr.

Txva,

Yeah, I knew that Shotgun Red has one. Actually asked if he was interested in selling it. Can you guess what the answer was,

I have 2 handguns in the 32 mag. A Ruger SP101 with a 4" barrel an a Taurus with a 2" barrel (CCW).

The only other S&W Model 16 in 32 mag I've found was in New Zealand. The guy wanted $900.00 for it.

Sure wish I could talk my brother into selling his. That ain't gonna happen though.

I have a S&W 16-4 full lug 32 H&R mag
Has to be the best revolver
I saw the one in New Zealand a few months ago and nearly bought it he sent me a photo of it but by the time I got it here to Australia it would be too much.I paid $600.00 for mine about 3 years back. Had a trigger job done and a couple of other tricks.
I had a fella wanting to buy it off me, I said $1200.00 and he said OK, "I thought he would bark at the price" but he didn't
anyhow I still declined his offer ( I dont think I will ever sell it)
Seeing that they are so hard to find I would better of giving it to my son as he enjoys shooting it also.
If I was your brother I would be thinking real hard about selling it.

ausiebob,

Have you ever shot one with a 6" barrel. I just seem to shoot a 6" barrel better than a 4".

My brothers S&W 32 mag 6" barrel has to be one of the best shooting guns that I've ever shot, His has had a trigger job also, smooooooooth. (I did offer him $800.00 USD for it an he laughed at me.)

I also like the fact that you can shoot 32 longs loaded down that make a good plinking load.

I guess I'll have to just keep shooting my S&W 686 .357 with the 6" barrel an .38 loads. Or one of the rimfires.

I've got a taurus copy with the six inch barrel.. will never part with. Having said that I really want the Smith 16!! Someone needs to petition S&W to do another run.. They are going for $900+ on gunbroker, even a limited run could get them back to realistic levels.

My wife has the ruger SP101 with 4" barrel. pretty gun but double action leaves alot to be desired. I've read else were they shoot in to get smoother, but after 1000+ rnds ours hasn't changed much.

lately copper plated bullets have started to trickle down to the 32, must be some demand for it...
