While looking at Shotgun News a friend and I noticed some S&W revolvers at great prices.

A Model 65 .357 mag for $229.99 in what the ad calls "very good" condition

Also a Model 10 again in "very good" condition for $199.95 in a different ad

Both said add $10 for hand select/choice

I want one of each but I started thinking. Are these police revolvers that have been beat to trash then reblued? What exactly does very good condition mean? Have these guns been used heavily and never cleaned? These aren't give away prices but if the ad is for a large quantity of them that would lead me to believe they were police service revolvers. Police aren't exactly known for caring for their guns. Does anyone have any experience with these or information?

They are very probably Spanish, Brazilian or Argetine returns. Made by S&W for use by various departments and militaries, world wide. They rarely come back NRA very good to excellent... caution!

I'm not familiar with JG... but ask questions - lots of questions. I don't like descriptions like "very good", "really nice" or "almost new." I want a derscription with the % rating and one that fully describes each weapon. Take your pick? How do you pick with that kind of skimpy description?

:? CAVEAT EMPTOR

Now... enough of this nonsense... buy my MilSpec.
