 Shipping is Re-dick-u-lus About 2 hrs ago I was working on an online order to Midway. JUst a couple of items I needed and didnt see at last trip To Gander Mtn. Even tossed in a small item to make the order over the $25 minimum ,total was $27.40 ,then the shock. SHIPPING $12.47 No more buying from mail order. I can drive the 24 mile trip to Gander several times for that $12. shipping cost.

What shipping method did you choose? I've always used the USPS shipping on orders from Midway. I never thought it was too high.
Do shipping prices increase around the holidays. I'm working on an order now but don't want to pat through the nose.

I believe they have a surcharge for orders under $75. Not sure of the exact amount but it was in that ballpark last time I ordered a few months ago. You really need to read the fine print sometimes. I believe they warn you if your order is lower than the cut-off. I can usually find enough stuff to get to the just plain shipping charges, which they charge by actual wieght as far as I can tell.

The shipping giants are not going to go broke anytime in the near future---They realize not everyone lives within driving distance and will have to pay the shipping as the item needed can't be found in a particular area.Try going in with another shooter or two to help reduce costs or if possible and you know someone close to the store you plan to order from-have them pick it up and ship it to you-at least the handling part won't be involved--I hope
