After trying .357 magnums in my new SP101 it would appear that the cylinder is slightly too short. I had problems with Sellier & Bellot and Winchester hollowpoints sticking out of the front of the cylinder far enough to prevent it from rotating. Nearly two out of five shots were prevented from firing because of this. Had the cylinder been just a fraction longer no problems would have been had. A friend of mine has a 2" version with the same issue so it may be common to the sp101.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? The gap between the cylinder and barrel is tighter than any I've ever seen so there isn't a lot of space to work with.

I just got a suggestion on another forum that 158 grain bullets were too long. The barrel says "125 grain bullet" but I didn't realize they were any different in length. I don't reload so hopefully a lighter bullet fits better.

What is OAL?
