Sig 239 question?

Does anyone know if a 239 9mm can be change to a 40 easily? So it could be switched back and forth.

The answer is no. But you can change a .40 to a .357 sig.

oh come on... it's a sig. the only thing that has to be changed out is the barrel and the mag. it's a $150 and 4 seconds worth of conversion.

the barrels are about $120 and a new mag is about $30. You just have to remember to switch the mag. It's not hard... a 9mm round will not go into a .40 mag, nor a .40 chamber. and vice versa. I'm not recommending that you do that by any means. But it's not a hard conversion.

He wants to change the 9mm to a .40, not a .40 to a 9mm.

This is what Sig says on their FAQ's:

Are there conversion barrels available for the 9mm P226, P229, P239?
Conversion barrels for the 9mm P226, P229 and P239 are not currently available from SIGARMS.

This is what Barsto barrels has to say on the subject:

Sig Model 239

9mm For the 40/357 available. Must specify 9mm for the 40/357 or 9mm for a 9mm firearm. Cannot go from 9mm to 40/357 only from 40/357 to a 9mm.

I took the gun to a gun show to see it a 40 mag would fit in a 9mm frame. It wouldn't fit. A friend of mine has a 40, so we put his barrel on my gun and the ejector and extractor wouldn't work. So I've come to the conclusion, it won't work.

The Barsto 9mm for the .40 frame looks pretty appealing to me.
Can anyone comment who has ACTUALLY INSTALLED a 9mm barrel in a .40 successfully? Oh...on a 239.
