Well, well, well.
First to post the topic in a new forum site.....
niiiiiiice. :D

Hello all, ventured over here from the message in Shotgun World.
HERE

Good luck with your new endeavor, and to start things off in the SIG link:
What models do you have?
What Caliber?
Planning on any other SIGs'?

My daily carry is P229 .40 S&W with Crimson Trace LG-329 laser grips.
I also have the SIG .357 SIG barrel on recommendation from two very close friends that are U.S. Air Marshals in the Dallas Texas area.

I waffle between both calibers, but tend to like the .40 S&W just a bit better.

As far as new models, I think next year the the GSR is in my "sights"

I also have a P229 w/ trijicon sights. One of my favorite pistols. I haven't purchased the .357 sig barrel yet but plan on it(actually been planning on it for 10 years).
Who makes the best after market .357 barrel? Sig?

Yep... I've got the 229 with both the .40 and the .357 barrels. Trijicon night sites and 3 preban mags for less than $500 about 3 months ago. What a deal huh? I put the hogue wrap arounds one them and put it in a Bianchi slip holster... nice combination for cc.

My girlfriend is picking up a 225 tomarrow at the gunshow, and my next gun purchase, while still quite a while off, will be a 220.

Can't wait.

Keep in mind if you put an aftermarket barrel in the gun that is not a Sig product, it voids the warrenty of the gun. I'd stick with Sig anyway, the price is the same or better in some places, and you know it is quality.

funny. The first pistol i purchased was a 229 on the day of my birthday . I had it on lay away for a couple of months before I turned 21 so could shoot it at the range.

hehehe Yup.
My 229 was my first pistol also.

Carried the Beretta in the Army, and had shot many friends pistols.
Kimber, S&W, Ruger... all the big names and some of the junk ones too.

Shot my first SIG (220 .45ACP) and went to the gun runner and put the 229 on lay-a-way right then and there :!:

Never regretted it, never looked back.

Always been partial to the 45acp and have 5 Colts it was kind of a no brainer to go with the 220. Without question the Sig in any caliber is a top grade piece. I have heard good things about the 357sig but after buying the 10mm Colt Delta and feeling the pain of purchasing ammo there I decided to stick to 45.
