Just bought this Single Six that came with Hogue grips. When I replaced them with Ruger wooden grips, I noticed this mark:

It's the imprint of the screw where the Hogue grip was mounted. The finish is completely removed and the metal underneath the finish is exposed.

Any suggestions on how to refinish this?

This is my first gun and I'm no metalworker, so if it's beyond me, I won't be insulted if you tell me.

thanks.....

The grip frame on a Single Six is a powder-coated aluminum alloy. Any gunshop should have a pen from Birchwood-Casey to take care of it. They make a pen to blue steel, and a pen (more like a marker, actually) to repair dings & scratches in black anodized or powder-coated aluminum.

If you can't find one locally, try Brownell's, Natchez, or Midway on line.
