just purchased a sbh for next years hunting season. Really like the hornady leverevolutions they shot great out of my lever gun. they will not cycle around the cylinder. the rim hits the load gate. it only does it with the hornady ammo. has anybody heard or seen this before. the pistol is 44mag

Hard to believe, but it sounds as though the rim thickness is out of spec. With a micrometer or caliper, measure the rim thickness on the bad cartridge as well as one that fits, and compare them to the SAAMI specification found here:

Edited..... the link keeps screwing up, but it will at least get you into SAAMI, and you can find the cartridge drawings in there

Thanks for the reply.The rim thickness on 2 boxes of the hornady ammo where thicker. i've email hornady will see what happens in the new year maybe i got a bad batch.
