Hello, I was recently given a Ruger MKII Target pistol. I has the 4" Bull Barrel and is blued. I have shot about 100 Rounds through this gun, and I'd like to learn how to dissasemble it so I can keep it shooting throughout the years. This was my grandpa's gun and I'd hate to take it apart and not know how to get it back together! I don't have the manual with it since it was my grandpa's, and he didn't keep any of the papers with it. If anyone can lead me to the right direction, it'd be appreciated.

Just reread the instruction for the MarkII. They sure make it sound simple, huh? Heck I might have to pull mine apart again. I haven't used that kind of language in a while!

Matt,
Make note of that number at the on the first couple of pages. While these things aren't that bad about going back together, the first couple of times ya may need some help. I've pulled apart and put back together a lot of guns, be they shoulder fired or hand held. My MarkII gives me a fit everytime!

Thanks guys, I went to the Ruger Website and found the Instruction Manual to the MKII's. It was pretty much straight foward, but I had to really work to get that pin out of the receiver...and getting it back in was just as hard. I didn't take the Receiver and bolt off the handle, but I gave it a well needed cleaning anyways.

Thanks again for the replies, all I need to do now is to get it drilled and tapped for a scope, then I'll be in business!

Not to be bossy or anything, but DON'T DO THAT !!!!

First, it will kill the value of the gun should you ever decide to sell it.

Second, there are several "no drill" scope mounts available. As a matter of fact, I have a B-Square mount for the Mark I / Mark II that I'll sell cheap.

Send me a PM.
