1840's-1860's, roughly. Could have been made here, but probably European (Belgian). Check for any marks, letters, names, etc, and please post them. It is a 2-shot percussion pocket pistol with a bag handle, possibly walnut. Can't tell much about caliber. etc - need to get some idea of the size/scale. Try pics more in focus with someting in the pic to give an idea of the size of the gun. They were pretty common, and you won't make your retirement off it, but it should be worth a few hundred dollars if it is not rusty and it works.
They were carried a lot and condition is everything with this type of gun.
