Hi guys I have been hearing good news all day about the Voting over in Iraq. Looks like the Iraqi Constitution will pass.

What do you think is this the first step towards the U.S. being able to bring the Majority of the troops home?

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's (search) landmark constitution seemed assured of passage Sunday after initial results showed minority Sunni Arabs (search) had fallen short in an effort to veto it at the polls. The apparent acceptance was a major step in the attempt to establish a democratic government that could lead to the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

That would be nice, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I think we have such a mess over there that it's going to be a Looooong time before the majority are out of there...Maybe some of the National Gaurd Troops will be coming home by next summer, but we'll see! :?

I just heard a report that the tallies from the Sunni provinces may be considered "tainted" and, even if they are not, will show a strong "No" vote from those provinces. It is reported that the insurgency curtailed most of its activities just to let the Sunni's vote "No." Remember, only 2/3's from 3 provinces voting no will terminate the Constitution and send it back for a re-write. :?

I hope the nay-sayers are wrong and that this is a major step towards getting our troops out of this war - quickly.
