i have what looks like a very old but good condition smith and wesson 38 speicial. It is blued, has a 4in barrel, square walnut grips, notched rear sight, the serial number on the bottom of the grips is c76453 the markings beside the cylinder read 3 T then bellow that it has 22489. This pistol looks almost like a model 10 but the "smith and wesson" on the barrel looks like much older engraving. Can any one tell me what pistol i have, and how much it may be worth?..Thanks

That pistol was made between 1948 and 1952 and is most certainly a transitional piece from the M&P to the Model 10. A picture would help, but value on the market, right now, for an excellent piece is close to $400.00.
