Personally, I would never purchase a Hi Point.
In my opinion, what ever money you spend on it is wasted money that would have been better off put toward the purchase of a better quality used semi-automatic pistol.
I would not call the Hi Point a jam-o-matic though. I have shot at least 10 different Hi Points, 6 of which were the compacts. All but one functioned flawlessly. The one that didn't was a compact. It would not fire due to light firing pin strikes.
