Wood Finish

What type of finish would you reccomend for these handles? It would be really nice to know specific brands so I have no trouble finding it. I want a clear that brings out the grain and makes it appear darker.

That looks like Walnut. I'd try a little Tru-oil. It has always made woodgrain look very nice when I've done stock with it. Finish off with some good wax.

Yes, it is walnut. What kind of wax would you reccomend as I have no knowledge of woodworking or of the products. Here's what it looks like after I drilled the hole and mounted it.

Your restoration is coming along nicely.

I suppose there are a number of commercial products that would work great. Myself, I would probably stay natural and give it multiple coats of linseed oil, cut with turpentine to aid in penetration, hand rubbed using something like cheese cloth between coats. There may be easier finishes to apply, but I don't think there is a better one. Oh, then a beeswax based finish.
I'll pick up some linseed oil tommorow and start rubin' her down. Thanks for the info.
